What is Medicare?
Medicare is a federally administered health insurance program. Medicare is a benefit eligible to recipients who turn 65 or certain younger people with disabilities.
Medicare Part A
Medicare Part A is your hospital insurance. It covers the costs of inpatient hospital visits, skilled nursing care, hospice care, and some home health care.
In 2021, the Part A deductible is $1484.
Medicare Part B
Medicare Part B is your medical insurance. It covers only 80% doctor services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services. There’s no ceiling to this 20% exposure.
In 2021, the Part B deductible is $203 and the standard premium is $148.50. Your monthly premium may vary based on your qualifying income bracket.
Medicare Part D
Medicare Part D is your prescription drug coverage. It helps cover the cost your prescribed medications.
Each plan has to be Medicare approved, and will vary in costs.
